Graduate Studies Partners with Masters’ Programs to Support Graduate Students at The Beach
As Graduate Studies identifies gaps in resources for graduate students, they collaborate with experts on campus to meet their needs. Two partnerships take on their third year of providing support, and one partnership is launching this semester. The Thesis & Dissertation Office (TDO) partners with the MA in English program to offer an internship to two MA students. This internship provides professional development on copy-editing and style guides, while also offering support with the thesis and dissertation review process. This year’s TDO interns are Rusty Moore and Pearl Pham. Graduate Studies also partners with the Master of Social Work (MSW) program and Beach Wellness for an internship program that provides skill-building to an MSW student in offering workshops and group support. This year’s grad student wellness intern is Luis “Louie” Espitia, who under the guidance of Damian Zavala, will provide overall well-being guidance and programming to CSULB graduate students. Finally, Graduate Studies is launching an internship program with the MS in Applied Statistics. Two grad students in that program, under the guidance of Dr. Hojin Moon, will offer statistical consultation to graduate students completing research projects, theses, or dissertations. This Stats Intern program provides experience in client consulting for data analysts through application and communication of statistical techniques.
